A) Authentication:
HKID/Passport number or Manulife Customer Number (MCN)/Username and Personal Identification Number (PIN) must be entered to authenticate your identity every time you logon to our Web Site services. For the sake of security, you are required to change the initial PIN for the first access. You are also advised to change your PIN regularly for your protection.
Your account will be suspended automatically upon five unsuccessful attempts to login. You can request a new PIN online or call our Customer Service hotline at 2108 1188 for any queries.
When the machine is left idle for a certain period of time, our system will automatically logoff itself to prevent any unauthorized access.

1. Protect your personal PIN
Your personal PIN serves as an important key to establish your identity in the online environment. To safeguard and protect your PIN, you should:
- Keep your PIN private and confidential. Do not disclose it to anyone.
- Ensure no one views your account or PIN while logging in to the system.
- Choose a strong and unique PIN. Do not select a PIN that is easy to guess, such as your identity card number, phone number, initials, date of birth or sequential numbers (e.g. 12345678) etc.
- Change your PIN regularly, at least every 45 days.
- Remember your PIN. Do not write down or record it without disguising it.
2. Disable your browser's 'AutoComplete' function
On some browsers, 'AutoComplete' function remembers the data you input and indicates possible matches. Disable this function of your browser to avoid storing or retaining your personal information, such as identity card number, date of birth and PIN etc.
3. Logoff your online session when not using it
Logoff your online session once you have finished using it or you have to leave your PC for a while. You may also activate your password-protected screen saver as an added protection.
4. Clear your browser's cache after each session
Temporary files stored in your computer called cache files can retain information and data. Remember to clear the browser's cache and history after each session so that your account information is removed, especially if you are using a shared computer.
5. Keep your computer updated with the latest anti-virus and firewall updates
You should protect your computer from viruses/malicious programs (e.g. Trojan Horses) which can destroy critical data. These programs can also capture your login keystrokes and personal information without your acknowledgement.
To avoid your computer getting infected, you should:
- Equip and regularly update with the latest virus detection software and personal firewall to protect against virus attacks, hackers and malicious programs.
- Do not download software from dubious web sites.
- Delete junk/chain emails.
- Avoid using programs which enable you to automatically get or preview files.
- Always scan files by anti-virus software before executing them. They may contain malicious codes or viruses.
